We cordially invite you to the opening of the exhibition Time in spite of, restoration and conservation of collections , which takes place on Thursday, September 26 from 5 p.m.
The exhibition will be available:
27/09/2024 – 20/02/2025
Don't miss a unique opportunity to look behind the scenes at the work of conservators and restorers who fight against time every day to preserve our cultural heritage for future generations.
The exhibition will present the individual workplaces of our museum's conservation and restoration department and explain the key procedures they use to protect and restore historically valuable artefacts. Through the most modern audio-visual means and original exhibits, you will discover the secrets of craftsmanship and the mastery of our restorers and conservators.
Find out what their job entails and how complex and challenging artefact rescue can be. Get to know the stories of objects from different materials and historical stages and embark on a journey to save them. You will have the opportunity to compare their original damaged condition, the condition during the rescue work and, of course, the condition after the restoration. The exhibition will be appreciated not only by experts, but also by the general public, including children, for whom there will be various interactive corners with thematically tuned content.
You can also meet the restorers and conservators in person during one of the guided tours of the exhibition , where they will be happy to share their experience and knowledge with you: October 31, 2024, November 28, 2024 and January 23, 2025 , always from 5 p.m.
