Effective from 11.11.2022, the following operational guidelines are established for users of bicycle storage areas - “bicycle parking”:

  • The relaxation area near the Genetic Garden Albertov N12 (A8) is freely available for students and employees without restrictions. Bicycle storage areas are located in the courtyard of the Faculty of Science building at Viničná 7, Prague 2, and in a designated space near the Genetic Garden, Albertov N12, behind the relaxation area.
  • Access to the storage areas at Viničná and Albertov is protected by chip locks.
  • The operating hours for both bicycle storage areas are the same: Monday to Friday from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM. On public holidays, the bicycle sheds are not in operation.
  • Every employee and student of the Faculty of Science, Charles University, is eligible to request the activation of the necessary access rights for their employee or student ID card at the OIT department.
  • The bicycle parking at Albertov is equipped with secure bicycle holders, which can be locked with special locks. These locks can be borrowed from the reception at Albertov 6 for a refundable deposit of 100 CZK.
  • It is strictly forbidden to damage the installed bicycle holders, furniture, fencing, or any other equipment in the bicycle storage areas.
  • It is strictly forbidden to perform any bicycle repairs or engage in any activities in the bicycle storage areas that violate applicable regulations concerning fire safety, occupational health and safety, environmental protection, or waste management.
  • Each user of the bicycle shed is responsible for securing their bicycle using one of the available security systems, including the installed secure bicycle holders. If a bicycle is not properly secured in the storage area, no compensation can be provided by the insurance company in case of theft.
  • Any malfunctions of the entrance systems must be reported immediately to the reception staff or administrators from OSBI at Albertov 6 or Viničná 7.
