Detailed description of the programme
The study of demography covers the reproduction of human populations taking into account the wider context, causes and consequences. The main processes studied consist of birth and mortality rates and changes in the demographic structure, including family and household structures. Demography also addresses topics surrounding marriage, divorce, abortion and migration. Moreover, the study programme focuses on research concepts and methods concerning basic demographic processes and processes that influence demographic reproduction, the regional differentiation of human population development, and the teaching of the principles governing population theories and population policy concepts.
