Identifiers (persistent identifiers, PIDs) are tools that are used to uniquely identify different types of objects (people, organisations, books, articles, datasets, etc.). They could be big help for researchers when used correctly. We will focus mostly on Unique Author Identifiers (UAI) like ORCID, Researcher ID, or Scopus Author ID and their relations to the Publishing Activity Records (via the OBD system). The National Library of Technology (NTK) created the National Centre for persistent identifiers. Usefull information about selected types of PIDs are availlable on their web page identifikatory.cz There is also new web section on the web of the Open Science Support Centre ORCID at Charles University DOI – for object (articles, datasets ...) ORCID – for researchers (authors) ISSN – for periodicals (journals) ISBN – for books ROR – for organisations IGSN ID – for samples RAiD – for research activities
