Shaping T-cell responses by non-classical antigen-presenting cells

Non-classical antigen-presenting cells are emerging as key regulators of immune responses, yet their functions remain less understood than those of conventional antigen-presenting cells like dendritic cells and macrophages. Their unique characteristics make them intriguing for both fundamental research and potential therapeutic applications. My research explores their role in immune tolerance and responses to microbial challenges, with a central focus on the molecular pathways that regulate these processes. Specifically, I investigate the factors that control immune system responsiveness and how antigen-presenting cells, along with molecular signals, shape T cell fate decisions—balancing immune activation, tolerance, and decision-making within the immune system.
