I aim to understand ecological consequences of seasonal bird migration with implications for predicting impacts of the ongoing environmental change and targeting conservation efforts to counteract negative population trends commonly observed in these highly mobile animals. To achieve this, I combine individual tracking, remote sensing of the environment and measures of breeding performance and long-term population changes. Throughout my studies, I built an extensive international network of collaborators, and exchanged experience during seven research stays at universities across Europe and North America.

To date, my research projects has culminated in the establishment of a network comprising over 200 researchers hailing from 34 countries and my commitment to further expanding this network is fuelled by the potential it holds for fostering innovative and ground-breaking concepts within movement ecology.
