New generation of OldMapsOnline
Join the David Rumsey Map Center for the public launch of the next generation of OldMapsOnline with TimeMap. OldMapsOnline is an application that allows users to discover the past through over one million digitized ancient maps which can be viewed in 3D and even with augmented reality. The TimeMap component of OldMapsOnline allows users to better grasp a map’s historical context by providing clickable information about the people and events associated with it.
During the event, OldMapsOnline creator Petr Pridal and his collaborators will demonstrate the rich functionality of this extraordinary interactive map tool, as well as discuss future possibilities of applying technology to historical study.
