Following the collaboration between the Czech Academy of Sciences (CAS), the IOCB Tech Foundation, and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) within the MIT-Czech Republic IOCB Tech Foundation Seed Fund, we are pleased to announce the opening of the call for joint project proposals, tentatively scheduled from September 10 to December 10, 2024. The call is open to all scientific disciplines.

An online informational meeting is also planned for those interested in collaborating with MIT and receiving support from the fund. This meeting will be hosted by MIT on July 31, 2024, at 16:00 CEST (10:00 EDT). Registration is available here.

The program was established in 2021 in collaboration with MIT, AV ČR, the Institute of Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry of the AV ČR, and its subsidiary IOCB Tech. It is currently funded by the IOCB Tech Foundation, which contributes $100,000 annually to the program. Each year, the fund supports 3 to 5 new collaborations between scientists from AV ČR research institutes and universities in the Czech Republic and their partners at MIT, with grants of up to $25,000. These funds can be used to cover travel and accommodation expenses associated with work meetings and scientific internships. Successful applicants will be decided by April of the following year, and the first trips can take place in June 2025.
