URGENT- safety information
Dear colleagues,
As much as we wish times were calmer and we could all concentrate fully on the activities that connect us to the Faculty, times have changed. I must inform you that during the course of yesterday, I held a meeting not only with the university management but also with representatives of the Police of the Czech Republic regarding the threats against the six universities, all with the wish that we do not underestimate the current threat. I have also activated the Faculty Crisis Staff. At the moment, please pay attention to the report we have received from the experts who deal with security at the University. Thank you.
Prof. Jiří Zima
Dean

Based on discussions with the Police of the Czech Republic and a threat assessment, we consider the incident to be extortion and a non-specific threat to disrupt operations and confidence in security.
We are in coordination with the Police of the Czech Republic, with whom we are negotiating a preventive increase in physical presence at the University's facilities, particularly to enable the rapid resolution of any concerns and suspicions of University employees and students.
An increased number of police officers can be expected at university facilities during the day tomorrow (12 March 2024).
