For the year 2024-2025, Sorbonne University will fund 4 doctoral contracts, Charles University will fund 2 contracts, and the University of Milan will fund 1 doctoral contract. To be eligible to enter into a cotutelle agreement, it is necessary to pass the standard admission procedure at both partner universities and enroll in the program. The agreement on joint supervision of the doctoral thesis can be concluded only afterwards. The funding university is the university of the main supervisor. During the course of study, the doctoral candidate must spend one year in mobility at the university of their co-supervisor.
At Charles University, all potential applicants who are not yet enrolled in a doctoral study program must apply here. After successfully completing the selection process (organized individually by the faculties) and enrollment, the relevant cotutelle agreement can be signed. In most cases, a new application must be submitted by the end of April. The evaluation process typically includes a review of the applicant's previous higher education, publication record, doctoral project proposal, and assessment of their general research capacity in the relevant field. Evaluation is carried out personally by a committee organized by the field council.
