How do you present your research in just three minutes, making it clear and engaging? That is precisely the challenge of the FameLab competition, whose national final took place on Monday, September 21, at the Municipal Library in Prague. The Faculty of Science at Charles University was represented by ecologist Eliška Leštinová, who secured a fantastic 3rd place.

During the evening, ten finalists were given the opportunity to present their research to both the audience and an expert jury. Each of them had just three minutes to share their scientific story. The results were decided by a jury consisting of Tereza Martinková Bártlová, Jan Lukačevič, and Jiří Martinek. The programme also included audience voting and a science quiz.
The final ranking of the contestants, as determined by the expert jury, was as follows:
-
Linda Tölgová
-
Anežka Lyková
-
Eliška Leštinová
Audience Award: Tereza Roesel
Our faculty was represented by Eliška Leštinová, who focuses on ecology and characterized her competition entry in three words – “droppings, wolves, and childhood memories.” Her presentation captivated the jury, earning her 3rd place among a strong group of finalists.

Charles University is the national partner and holder of the international license for the FameLab competition. The Faculty of Science, Charles University, also contributes local organizational support for the national final. Thanks to our faculty's students in attendance, visitors were even able to enjoy ice cream prepared using liquid nitrogen!
