3 days, more than 50 participants, 35 engaging presentations, plenty of inspiring discussions, and surely many new friendships – that was, in a nutshell, 19th ICA Digital Approaches to Cartographic Heritage Conference, held on 17–19 September 2025 at the Faculty of Science, Charles University.

The participants also viewed with interest the new exhibition Šafařík's Cartographic Legacy and UNESCO, which presents a selection of maps from the Collection of Cartographic Documents by Pavel Josef Šafařík.


The 19th year of this meeting is organized by the Commission on Cartographic Heritage into the Digital of the International Cartographic Association in the cooperation with the Geography Section of the Faculty of Science, Charles University and the Laboratory of Cartography and Geographical Analysis, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (CartoGeoLab), supported by the Map & Geoinformation Curators Group (MAGIC) and the Research Committee, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.


The patronage was taken over by the Dean of the Faculty of Science, Charles University, Assoc. Prof. RNDr. Ing. Vladimír Krylov, Ph.D., the Vice-Dean of the Geographical Section Assoc. Prof. RNDr. Luděk Šídlo, Ph.D., and the Czech Cartographic Society.
