The EVIM-NET logo visually represents the mission of the European Network for Animal Evolutionary Immunology. Its central motif — a shield encircled by a DNA double helix — symbolizes protection and the genetic complexity of immune systems across animal species. The logo combines scientific precision with visual simplicity, clearly communicating the network’s focus on the evolution of immune systems in the animal kingdom.
- Shield: A symbol of defense, featuring three stylized pathogens that represent the challenges faced by immune systems.
- DNA Helix: Wrapping around the shield, it expresses evolutionary connections between species, genetic diversity, and molecular-level research.
- Animals: The newly chosen silhouettes of a fish, bird, and mouse represent key model organisms used in evolutionary immunology research. Each species offers a unique perspective on the development of immune mechanisms. The silhouettes can be exchanged by others if decided.
- Colored Dots: These symbolize diversity, data, and the interconnectedness of research groups within the network.
Congratulations to the winner!
